I'm New here...

Getting involved in church can be quite intimidating.
Here's a bit of information to know what to expect.

FAQs

What time do you meet & when should I arrive?

Sunday morning services start at 9:30am. A good rule of thumb is to  arrive about 15 minutes earlier to receive a service outline, find a seat, say 'Hi' to someone and get settled.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely! Church is for all ages, and we try to cater for the youngest babe to the eldest Centenarian. We currently have a kid-friendly area at the back of church, include age-appropriate content for kids in our services, and hold a dedicated kids church during school term time (on the second & third Sundays of the month).

When do you celebrate communion?

As a rule of thumb, we currently celebrate Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays of each month. Sometimes this changes around depending on the church calendar.

What should I wear?

There is no dress-code to come to church - come dressed in whatever feels comfortable. Most people wear comfortable casual to smart-casual attire.

How Long are the Services?
Do I need to participate in the service?

Around 75 to 90 minutes. After church, we have morning tea together. If you need to leave in the middle of church, that's no problem - we are still glad to have you.

Church services are much more significant for us when we do participate, however if you are new, there is no pressure to say or sing anything. As you become more familiar with the service format, the prayers, and the songs, you are welcome to join in at your own pace.

Sunday Services... in a nutshell

Our hope is always that our church services are not drab & meaningless, nor about Entertainment.
Instead, they are multi-dimensional: focussing on worshipping the God of the Universe (the 'vertical' aspect),
and building up each other (the 'horizontal' aspect).

In addition to this: church is not meant to be 'consumeristic'. We all give and take, participate and receive.
We give glory and worship and thanks to God for everything He is, and everything He does.
And we receive the comfort, hope and peace that he gives us in the Lord Jesus, through word & sacrament.

As Christians have done so across the ages, we participate together in listening to the holy scriptures read & explained.
We pray and sing songs together that draw our minds to God's truth
and waken our hearts and wills to love and serve him, as we ought.

In keeping with our Anglican tradition, there is a structure and formality to our service,
which is informed by a Biblical and Apostolic tradition, whilst not being stuffy or meaningless.

We generally sing a mix of modern and older songs which are deeply shaped by Biblical truth.

And after every Church Service, we are then sent out into the world, by God's Spirit, to live and work for his praise and Glory.

Whilst modern life is often so pointless, we hope that you find a church home here that is deeply spiritual and significant for you and that grounds you in the Cosmic drama that God has orchestrated, and continues to unfold.
